Our visit to the 2011 Scottish Championships in Perth Concert Hall on 26 February saw Tayport Band picking up the fourth section runner-up prize for our performance of John Golland’s “Prelude, Song and Dance” which placed us four clear points ahead of the third placed band. Our principal cornet player Irene Reid also won the section’s Best Instrumentalist medal.

As a result, we have qualified for promotion back to the third section and will go on to represent Scotland at the National Championships to be held in Cheltenham in late September this year.
