Not so very long we were actively contesting and doing well within our section, earning 2nd place in the 4th section of the Scottish Championships in 2014. Following that result, we went on to take part in the National Championships held in Cheltenham later that year.

Sadly, for a variety of reasons, we’ve lost a number of players since then. 2017 was the first year in a very long time where we were unable to take part at the annual Scottish Championships held in Perth on 12th March. So we really do need help from any of you brass players out there who are coming to work or study in the area and looking for a band to be a part of!

We’d also like to appeal to any of our former members where your busy lifestyle may have taken you away from the band. Perhaps there’s a part of you that misses the enjoyment and camaraderie of being part of he band – perhaps you’ve been meaning to come back but just need to get your lip in first? Why not just come along anyway (you could always try a different instrument if you feel like a change) – rehearsals are a lot less stressful than you may remember, and you’ll get nothing but support and encouragement from the front (as well as from all your band colleagues!)

So what do we need? In a word, pretty much everything, but particularly cornets, horns and basses. Our invitation is open and we look forward to seeing you very soon!
