Tayport Band on Stage at the Contest

TIB Earns 2nd Place From Field of 14 at Scottish Brass Band Championships

Gaining second place in section 4 of the Scottish Brass Band Championships held in Perth Concert Hall on Saturday 8th March is a great result for us which results in promotion back up to section 3 and a trip down to Cheltenham to play in the UK National Championships this coming September. The band played brilliantly on the day with the best instrumentalist award going to solo trombone Richard Bunting!

We found ourselves closer to full strength than in previous years, with only one cornet, one baritone and one Bb bass missing on the day (if you believe you can fill any of these seats, please get in touch.)

It was also good to see the 4th section had a healthy entry of 14 bands this year, all of which turned up to play!
