[back to top] Frank Campbell The man behind Campbell's repairs is Frank Campbell (pictured right - at work in our workshop repairing an alto sax) Frank studied musical instrument technology at Stevenson College in Edinburgh, first completing a national certificate in orchestral instrument repair, then on to a Higher National Diploma. During this additional two years he chose to specialise in brass and woodwind instrument technology (included modules in musical instrument technology and the physics of sound). In his spare time, Frank enjoys making music with his friends, but usually prefers to play blues guitar! [back to top] Customers At Campbell's we currently undertake all Scottish repairs for Normans Music and the Music for Schools Foundation. We also regularly repair and service instruments for West Lothian, Falkirk and Clackmannan councils. In addition, we frequently undertake work for various schools from all over Scotland who pay directly from their own budget. Another major group of customers are the Scottish brass bands, with work done for CWS Glasgow, Croy Parish, Bo'ness & Carriden, Unison Kinniel, Broxburn, Tayport, etc. [back to top] Rates As no two repairs are ever exactly the same, we can only give accurate costings when we see the instrument needing repair. Prices may vary depending on the condition of the instrument. Woodwind Repairs Replacing saxophone crook cork £10 Replacing tenon cork (clarinet) £10 Replacing key corks (from) £2 Fitting foot joint to body (flute) £15 Woodwind prices can vary from just a couple to hundreds of pounds for full overhauls. Each instrument has to be individually examined to determine the cost of any repairs. As you approach the centre of Camelon you'll see the Mariner Leisure Centre on your right. At the roundabout beside the centre turn right, taking the exit for Larbert and Stirling. Head down the road driving under the railway bridge - about half a mile past the bridge, the main road turns sharply to the right - but at this point go straight on and you're in Lochlands Business Park (it's signposted anyway!). Unit D2 is one of the new units you will see on the left side of the road - take the second entrance which is just past unit C.
